Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan’s Committee on legal statistics and special accounts of the Prosecutor General’s Office has unveiled plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) to identify and address pressing societal issues through the analysis of written communications.
During a collegium meeting on November 26, attended by regional prosecutors and akims (governors), Prosecutor General Berik Asylov emphasized the government's commitment to revising its approach to analyzing sensitive social issues using AI. The initiative will focus on processing complaints and appeals submitted by citizens to ministries and akimats (local government administration). Over the past 10 months, central government agencies have received 2.1 million appeals, while local bodies have handled 1.1 million.
The Prosecutor General’s Office provided insights into how AI will be integrated into the operations of local executive bodies, its role in combating bureaucratic delays, and the timeline for implementing the system.
According to the Committee on legal statistics and special accounts of the Prosecutor General’s Office, an analytical risk identification model has been developed and will soon be introduced to streamline the handling of citizen appeals in collaboration with authorized state bodies.
"With the accumulated data in the eOtinish information system and AI technologies for recognizing, generating, and processing written speech (Natural Language Processing), it will be possible to automatically identify relevant and pressing issues, categorize associated risks by sectors, and enable authorized bodies to promptly address citizens' concerns. This will also support the analysis and forecasting of socio-political trends," the committee stated.
The Prosecutor General’s Office has indicated that the project is currently being tested.
Cameras with AI will be implemented in all military units of Kazakhstan
