Tengrinews.kz - About 60 thousand passengers will spend New Year's Eve on the road on trains, according to data from JSC "Passenger Transportation."
On this day, Kazakhstanis will most often travel on the Astana-Almaty, Astana-Shymkent, Almaty-Shymkent, Astana-Semey and Almaty-Semey routes.
On New Year's Eve, 47 cashiers will be on duty at Kazakhstan's train stations. On trains that night, 73 train conductors and 1774 passenger car conductors will work, a total of 115 train crews.
"There are those among the conductors who celebrate the New Year on the train every year. At midnight, according to tradition, they call their family and friends to congratulate them, and then warmly look through family photos. The railway employees make every effort to ensure that every passenger safely, comfortably and securely reaches their destination and can celebrate the holiday with their family," the press service of the national carrier said in a statement.
It is noted that the conductors who come on shift will be on the road for 15 days.
