Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on National Book Day.
“Congratulations on National Book Day, celebrated for the first time this year! This holiday symbolizes the pursuit of knowledge, curiosity, and a love for reading. Through reading, young people develop the ability to think broadly and progressively. These are the values that shape a new quality of the nation,” the message reads.
Today, April 23, Kazakhstan is officially celebrating National Book Day for the first time. The initiative to establish the holiday came from President Tokayev. The government resolution introducing the new cultural date came into effect on July 16, 2024. President Tokayev has repeatedly emphasized the importance of fostering a strong reading culture and promoting literature among Kazakhstanis.
