A ceremonial welcome for Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who arrived in Astana on an official visit, took place at the Akorda residence.

"Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Robert Fico introduced members of their official delegations to each other. The commander of the honor guard company delivered a welcome report, followed by the national anthems of Kazakhstan and Slovakia," the Akorda statement said.

Earlier, it was announced that during the talks, the President of Kazakhstan and the Prime Minister of Slovakia would discuss prospects for expanding Kazakh-Slovak partnership.
