Tengrinews.kz – The American sportswear and footwear company New Balance Athletics, Inc. filed a lawsuit with the Specialized Interdistrict Economic Court of Astana, seeking compensation for the illegal use of its trademarks, according to the court's press service.
According to reports, the parties reached a settlement in court.
"As part of the settlement agreement, the defendant agreed to pay 200,000 tenge in compensation and destroy the goods bearing the New Balance trademark," the court stated.
The court's ruling has come into legal force, and the civil case has been closed.
Boston-based New Balance was founded in 1906. Last year, the company employed 8,000 people and had a turnover of $7.8 billion.
