Tengrinews.kz – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has expressed condolences over the passing of renowned pilot-cosmonaut, Halyk Kaharmany (People’s Hero), and prominent statesman and public figure Talgat Musabayev, citing Akorda.
“Talgat Amangeldiyevich was a hero who ventured into space three times and performed spacewalks, bringing glory to our country through his feats. He dedicated his entire career to advancing Kazakhstan’s space program.
As a senator and public figure, he initiated many worthy endeavors. The bright image of Talgat Amangeldiyevich, who was universally respected for his professionalism and active civic stance, will forever remain in our hearts,” the telegram reads.
Talgat Musabayev was born on January 7, 1951, in the village of Fabrichnoye (Zhambyl District, Almaty Region). He was a National Hero of Kazakhstan, lieutenant general of aviation, and doctor of technical sciences. He served as the Chairman of the National Space Agency of Kazakhstan (2007–2016) and as a member of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan (2017–2023).
