Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstanis with a five-day workweek will have 10 days off in the last month of 2024 and another 11 days off in the first month of the new 2025. Tengrinews.kz has prepared a convenient calendar of holidays and days off for December and January so that you can plan your rest and possible trips in advance.

December will give Kazakhstanis an additional day off in honor of Independence Day, which is celebrated on December 16. In 2024, the holiday falls on a Monday, allowing residents to enjoy a long weekend.

Schedule of days off:

  • December 14, Saturday: a working day for those with a six-day workweek and a day off for those with a five-day workweek;
  • December 15, Sunday: a regular day off;
  • December 16, Monday: Independence Day (a holiday for everyone).

It is worth noting that December 30 and 31 will be regular working days, so Kazakhstanis should plan ahead to prepare for the New Year.

In January 2025, Kazakhstanis will have time off on January 1 and 2 in celebration of the New Year. Then, January 3 will be a working day. The weekend will return on January 4 and 5. Christmas on January 7, 2025, falls on a Tuesday, giving Kazakhstanis an additional day off.

When asked whether to expect any changes to the New Year holiday schedule, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has not yet provided an answer. It is known that there will be no schedule changes in December.

In January 2025, Kazakhstanis will follow the holiday schedule below, depending on the length of the workweek.
