Tengrinews.kz – Four masked individuals attacked a coast guard boat of the Border Service of the National Security Committee in the Atyrau Region, Ak Zhaik reports.
The incident occurred in the afternoon of September 28 during a patrol operation, when the coast guard vessel discovered a large number of illegal fishing nets.
“While retrieving nets from the reeds, a boat carrying four masked individuals approached the coast guard vessel. The violators ignored a lawful order to stop and deliberately collided at high speed with the port side of the boat. As a result, one crew member fell into the water,” the Regional Communications Service reported.
The perpetrators fled in an unknown direction. The Atyrau Border Service Department, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, is currently conducting a search operation.
In connection with the incident, officials are calling on local residents to remain calm during unscheduled inspections.
