Tengrinews.kz – Russian President Vladimir Putin during his state visit to Kazakhstan, emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties.

According to him, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia has reached nearly $30 billion and continues to grow.

"Traditionally, our cooperation has developed in various areas. These include space, energy, and, in modern times, high technologies. Currently, there is potential for expanding collaboration on energy projects, particularly in nuclear energy. Kazakhstan is the world's largest uranium producer, and we are involved in its deposits," Putin noted.

Humanitarian ties remain an essential part of the bilateral relationship, the Russian president emphasized.

"Among other things, we have strong humanitarian connections and excellent interpersonal contacts. Kazakhstan is practically a Russian-speaking country, as you've probably noticed. Unfortunately, there are always many individuals with opinions on what should be done and criticism of processes in both Russian and Kazakh societies. However, this perspective and criticism do not always align with the interests of the states and do not always bring benefits.

In my opinion, we must do everything to strengthen our ties, but under no circumstances should we take steps that would damage our relationship," he added.
