Tengrinews.kz - Rumors circulating online claim that individuals in Kazakhstan could face prosecution for finding lost items such as money, wallets, or phones, according to StopFake.kz.

According to these reports, a person who discovers a valuable item must record the location on video and immediately contact the police.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has commented on the matter.

"According to clause 2 of the current regulatory resolution of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan dated July 11, 2003, No. 8 'On judicial practice in theft cases,' the appropriation of found or accidentally obtained property belonging to someone else cannot be considered theft. Therefore, the circulated information is not accurate," the ministry stated.

Previously, the Ministry of Internal Affairs warned Kazakhstani citizens about the risks of fraud involving artificial intelligence and targeted advertising.
