Tengrinews.kz — A total of 19 forest fires were extinguished in one day on the territory of Kazakhstan’s state forest fund on July 21, 2026. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
Four forest fires were extinguished in East Kazakhstan; one forest fire in Kokshetau State National Nature Park; one forest fire in the Ertis Ormany State Forest Nature Reserve; and 13 forest fires in the Semey Ormany State Forest Nature Reserve.
"The fire outbreaks were detected using the early forest fire detection system, as well as during aerial patrols by Kazavialesoohrana, after which the information was immediately transmitted to forest protection workers. From the moment the fires were detected, state forest protection employees and aerial firefighting paratroopers of Kazavialesoohrana promptly began localizing and extinguishing the fires,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said that thanks to the timely response, the spread of forest fires caused by lightning strikes was prevented, and the fires were fully extinguished within a short period of time.
Even a single spark can cause a major forest fire. During hot weather, we urge citizens and people spending time outdoors to strictly observe fire safety requirements, the Ministry of Ecology noted.
