Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet forecasters have commented on reports of extreme cold in East Kazakhstan Region.
What happened
Earlier, a video spread on social media in which a man claims that in Zyryanovsk on the night of January 16 the temperature allegedly dropped to minus 62 degrees. The author of the video stated that such cold “has never happened” in the city.
What forecasters say
However, Kazhydromet has refuted this information. According to meteorologists, on the night of January 16 the minimum air temperature at the Zyryanovsk weather station was minus 41.5 degrees.
Thus, the figures voiced on social media do not correspond to official meteorological observations.
