SalamWorld Islamic network to be launched in 2012 in 8 languages

Global Islamic social network called SalamWorld (Hello World) with interface in 8 languages will be launched in April 2012, RIA Novosti reports. “The project will start working in April 2012 in 8 languages: English, Arabic, Russian, French, Farsi, Urdu, Malaysian and Indonesian. 3-year financial plan has been approved; it envisages 50 million,” the project representative Abdul-Vahed Niyazov said. According to him, initially representatives from Egypt wanted the network to by politicized, but Turkish, Kazakh and Russian parties were against the idea. Famous translator of Quran, Elmir Kuliyev, PhD, became the editor-in-chief of SalamWorld. The social network is expected to operate like Facebook, VKontakte and Odnoklassniki networks. Registration will be free of charge. The project's head-office is in Istanbul, branch offices will be in Cairo, Moscow and other cities. The company is planning to open 15 offices around the world.
