Tengrinews.kz - A representative from Pavel Durov's circle indicated that Nikolai Durov and Ilya Perekopsky, the vice-president of the company, could expedite the investigation if they cooperate. Without their cooperation, the investigation could take up to a year.

If Nikolai Durov agrees to cooperate, it may lead to a reduction in Pavel Durov's judicial oversight, allowing him to check in once a week instead of twice and travel to other EU countries.

Whether Nikolai Durov and Perekopsky will agree to testify in France, potentially risking their own freedom, remains uncertain.

For context, the investigation into Telegram began after Pavel Durov was detained by French authorities last month. He faces multiple charges related to failing to address the spread of extremist and illegal content on the popular messaging app.

On August 28, Durov was released from custody in Paris on a €5 million bail. He was ordered to remain in France and report to the police twice a week. It has since emerged that he has agreed to cooperate with the investigation.
