A presentation of Google Translate+Kazakh project to add the Kazakh language to Google Translate was held in the Eurasian National University in Astana on December 7, BNews.kz reports. The free Google Translate service makes automatic translation of text or webpages into many languages. The service also includes a option of a simultaneous search for information using translation to another language. This tool helps readers understand the general idea and nature of texts in foreign languages, but fails to provide exact translations. This service currently includes dozens of world languages. However, the Kazakh language is not among them. Adding a language to Google Translate requires downloading a certain number of inversed translations from English and Russian to Kazakh. The project is being implemented with technical support of Google and under supervision of the head of Kazakhstan President’s Administration Karim Massimov.
