Tengrinews.kz – Users worldwide have encountered issues with ChatGPT, the popular AI service from OpenAI, which was temporarily unavailable. According to reports from NDTV, ChatGPT, which belongs to OpenAI, has been inaccessible to many users across the globe. Developers reported high levels of errors and delays on the platform.
OpenAI confirmed that they are aware of the situation and have initiated an investigation into the incident. The issues are not limited to ChatGPT: other AI tools from the company are also experiencing problems.
The outage affected not just ChatGPT but also other OpenAI AI services, including the API and the Sora tool. According to the company, the issue lasted for approximately two hours.
As of now, the problem with the AI service persists, and the correspondent was unable to use it.
According to Downdetector, there was a sharp increase in complaints from users in recent hours. At 14:07 (Almaty time), 466 users from India reported issues. This is not the first time such an outage has occurred; a previous outage in early April was linked to high demand for the new Ghibli-style image generation feature, which caused an overload of the service on April 2.
On Reddit, users expressed frustration about the outage. Many were unable to finish their tasks that the AI would typically complete in seconds.
One user shared their experience, saying, “I think the first sign was when I couldn’t upload a file about 3 hours ago. However, the text was fine about 10 minutes ago”.
Other users commented, “Yes, it was very slow at first, I was outputting just a few words per second, and then red errors appeared,” “It crashed, expecting a major update... maybe,” and “I think I’m sick today at work”.
Some users lost access to their Plus subscription, while others were redirected to a link showing the ChatGPT status.
As of the latest update, the restoration of services is still ongoing, and all systems remain unavailable.
