Toyota will start producing batteries in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the Information Department of Kazakhstan Ministry of Industry and New Technologies. “After the launch of the project of assembly Toyota offroaders at the production base of Saryarka AvtoProm (SAP) the company has expressed interest in opening production of spare parts for cars, in particular production of batteries. According to the corporation’s management, partnership in the project is currently being discussed with Kazakhstan,” the Department reported after the meeting of Kazakhstan Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev with Vice-President of Toyota Tsusho Corporation Yokoi Yasuhiko, the company’s General Manager Mori Teruyuki and head of the representative office of Toyota Tsusho Corporation in Kazakhstan Ichihashi Takuya. Besides, Asset Issekeshev and management of Toyota Tsusho Corporation discussed implementation of projects for production of malt extract, nitrogen fertilizers from natural gas and glucose-fructose syrup. Issekeshev instructed respective structural divisions of the Ministry to make their suggestions after detailed review of the projects.
