Solar panels were installed on the building of KazKosmos' branch Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary National Company in Baikonur, KazTAG reports. “This project is a result of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany in economy, technologies and environment protection,” project manager of Deutsche Energie-Agentur (Dena) Gabriel Aikhner said at the project’s presentation. According to director of Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary branch Tolegen Kushenov, the cost of the Solar Roof project in Baikonur made 20 thousand Euro. Modules of SolarWorld AG company were installed at the roof of the company's administrative building. They include 2 units 5 kW each, 4 panels generating 1 kW each. The total capacity of the 42 solar panels makes 10 kW (peak). “Depending on the panels installation conditions, the cost of 1 kW/h is 2,000-2,500 Euro,” managing director of Pretherm Solutions GmbH (PTS) Edgar Korte said. The Solar Roof joint Kazakhstan-German project was launched in Astana this year. 42 solar panels were installed on the roof of Gumilyov Eurasian National University on October 2. The unit with the capacity of 10 kW will generate 12,350 kW/h a year.
