Kazakhstan Ministry of Communications and Information defined radio frequencies for 4G-communications in Kazakhstan, Minister Askar Zhumagaliyev told Tengrinews.kz during Digital Communications Kazakhstan 2011 exhibition. According to Zhumagaliyev, Ministry of Communications and Information was negotiating integration of 4G with Kazakhstan Ministry of Defense. “Frequency range have been defined. Respective inspection on radio frequencies was performed,” the Minister said. He noted that radio frequencies will be provided free of charge to the companies that undertake to invest into coverage of Kazakhstan with cellular communications of the 4th generation. In May 2011 Askar Zhumagaliyev named the tentative radio frequencies that were to be allocated for integration of 4G in Kazakhstan. He wrote in his Twitter that the Ministry is working on the frequencies of 2,500-2,700 MHz, 2,300-2,400 MHz and 700-800 MHz for implementation of the 4th generation communications.
