Minister of Transport and Communications Berik Kamaliyev criticized Air Astana for continuous flight delays, KazTAG reports citing the Ministry’s press-service. “Frequency of flights in Astana airport made 86 percent in the first 8 months this year. The main reasons behind delays are late arrivals of aircrafts (64 percent of cases), aircrafts failures (9 percent) and weather conditions in airports (8 percent). The Minister criticized Air Astana for frequent continuous flight delays,” the Ministry’s press-release states. According to the press-service, “control center for monitoring performance of regular flights was created in the Ministry” in line with an aciton plan to increase frequency of flights and quality of rendered air services. “Since flights frequency depends on the teamwork of border control and customs services in Kazakhstan airports, we have planned steps to decrease duration of aircrafts border inspection and technological innovations into passport control,” the press-service said.
