Latvian transport infrastructure is ready for delivery of Kazakhstan cargoes to Europe, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Secretary of State of Latvian Foreign Ministry Andris Teikmanis as saying after the meeting with Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov. “We see a positive dynamics in development of the economy and mutual trade. We would like to develop and support these positive processes, especially in transit, logistics and transport. Latvian transport infrastructure is ready to cooperation with Kazakhstan on delivery of Kazakhstan cargoes. As for development of transit via Kazakhstan, Russia and Latvia between Asia and Europe, we are working to develop a so called New Silk Way initiative that covers cargo flows from Europe to Asia and from Asia to Europe,” Andris Teikmanis said. He noted that cooperation in those areas between Kazakhstan and Latvia were of key importance. Teikmanis also added that the relations between Kazakhstan and the European Union have a positive dynamics. “These relations have a good dynamics especially in terms of approaches to revision of the EU strategy. Currently this strategy is being revisited to place a greater emphasis on development of the economic ties,” Andris Teikmanis said. By Aidana Ussupova
