Authorities of Kyzylorda oblast are focusing on complex development of meat and milk cattle breeding, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports. According to Akim (Governor) of Kyzylorda oblast Bolatbek Kuandykov, last year the farms bought over 1,600 cattle, including breeding bulls. The plan is to import at least 1,400 more to breed cows this year. The administration is going to open at least two farms to ensure further spread of the import cattle and create several farms with around 9 thousand cattle in each and feed yards for 5,000 cattle each. "We are planning to export over 1,000 tons of meat by 2015," Kuandykov said. Development of cattle breeding requires development of the food base, he continues. According to him, the plant producing concentrated food with the capacity of 80 tons per day was opened in Kyzylorda in 2011. Two compound feed plants with the capacity of 80 tons per day each will soon be launched in Kyzylorda and Syrdarya region. Funding of cattle breeding from the oblast's budget in 2012 has been increased from 172 million tenge ($1.2 milion) to 315 million tenge ($2.1 million), and considering the input of the national budget this number is almost 770 million tenge ($5.2 million).
