KTZ manufactures $1.3 billion worth of products in 2013

In 2013 the company's output of rolling stock was worth $1.3 billion, 20 times of amount of 2008 Tengrinews reports citing the President of Kazakhstan Temir Zholi (KTZ) Askar Mamin.
Rail and Beam Mill was among the major projects started in 2013. The Aktobe-based plant relies on Siemens technologies and is capable of producing 430 thousand tons of the products per year. Another major project of 2013 was the beginning of construction of a GEVO diesel engines production plant in Astana. The construction is due to be completed in 2014.
KTZ, the national railway operator of Kazakhstan, has got plants that produce locomotives, freight wagons and carriages, electromotives and heavy car casting both for the local market and export. The national company plans to increase production of rolling stock and bring it to $2 billion.
