Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Serik Akhmetov promised to take control over modernization of three Kazakhstan oil refineries, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Prime-Minister as saying at the meeting in Oil and Gas Ministry. “Several times the President stressed the need of providing local market with our own oil products. Their quality has to comply with the new ecological standards. Our Oil and Gas Minister has already stressed this, but many issues related to reconstruction go behind schedule. I am instructing to complete all the preparatory works and start modernization of Pavlodar and Shymkent oil refineries in 2013,” Serik Akhmetov said. According to him, there are enough capacities and potential to reach these goals. “Perhaps, we will make it in such a way that we at the inter-authority commission will not only discuss the future of the decision taken, but also the course of implementation of these important projects. Please prepare the report on the course of reconstruction and modernization of oil refineries. Atyrau oil refinery has to complete the project of construction of the plant for production of aromatic hydrocarbons,” Prime-Minister added. By Baubek Konyrov
