Kyzylorda oblast administration, Samruk-Kazyna Invest and Chinese company Qinhuangdao Yaohua Glass Machine Manufacture Co., Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday to construct a plant for production of cast glass, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of the oblast's Akim (Governor). This project was approved by the Kazakhstan Government shortly before that. According to deputy chairman of Samruk-Kazyna Kuandyk Bishimbayev, the plant has the capacity of producing around 600 tons of glass per day, or around 180 thousand tons of glass per year. The plant will fully cover the country’s need for glass and even export the goods to other countries. “All the glass it produces will comply with the highest European and global standards. The plant will also produce energy-saving glass, which will become a good support for erection of new modern facilities before the EXPO-2017,” Bishimbayev noted. Akim of Kyzylorda oblast Krymbek Kusherbayev promised the construction of the plant worth $124 million would start in autumn.
