400 Australian breeding cattle arrived in Astana airport, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of KazAgroFinance. Sever-Agro N farm from Kostanai oblast leased these cows of Aberdeen Angus breed with the help of KazAgroFinance, Government's agriculture supporting arm. Another lot of 222 Australian cows arrived in Almaty. According to the source, this is the first part of the herd of Aberdeen Angus and Hereford cattle bought for Aksanat Engineering farm in South-Kazakhstan oblast. Arrival of the second part is expected in the middle of November. The project cost the company 300 million tenge ($2 million). As par of the project called Development of cattle meat export potential KazAgroFInance is planning to export over 7 thousand cows in 2011. The most number of applications for purchase of breeding cattle has been received from Astana area (1,617 cows), Almaty area (2,029 cows), Pavlodar oblast (1,585 cows) and Kostanai oblast (1,560 cows).
