Almaty subway receives European quality mark in London

Almaty Subway has been conferred ESQR's Quality Achievement Award 2013 European quality mark in the Gold Category, deputy Akim (Mayor) of Almaty Yuriy Ilyin told Tengrinews.kz.Almaty Subway received the Gold Category award on July 7 in London. ESQR award is conferred based on annual polls of the NGOs, mass media and different European organizations. After the voting Kazakhstan was awarded with a special certificate and the Q-lettered Cup symbolizing the quality mark.“Over 63 countries, European and international organizations participated in the nomination. I am happy that our subway has received such an important award and the quality certificate. We should uphold the standard from year to year,” Ilyin said.On July 9 Almaty Subway honored its 10-milionth subway passenger: Almaty citizen Maigul Abdakimova. The woman received a smart-card for an unlimited number subway trips during the year and a TV-set.By Vladimir Prokopenko
