The wear down of the water supply networks in Kazakhstan had made 70 percent, which is the main cause of the blowouts here and there, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan Regional Development Ministry. “The wearing of the water supply networks is 60-70 percent. There were 21 thousand emergency situations in water supply networks in Kazakhstan in 2012 and 8 thousand cases since the beginning of 2013,” the press-service states. Most of the emergency situations resulted from the wear down of the networks, the Ministry stressed. 102 projects in water supply totally worth 47.5 billion tenge ($317 million) were implemented in 2012 in Kazakhstan cities and 235 projects totally worth 33.9 billion tenge ($226 million) were implemented in Kazakhstan villages. The total of 1.1 thousand km and 1.76 thousand km of water supply networks were built in the cities and villages, correspondingly. 83.12 billion tenge ($554 million) have been allocated from the state budget for implementation of 300 projects in 2013, including 48.67 billion tenge ($324 million) for implementation of 132 projects in cities and 34.45 billion tenge (230 million) for implementation of 168 projects in villages in Kazakhstan.
