4.3 billion tenge ($29 million) will be allocated from the state budget for development of Zhanaozen in 2012-2014, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Minister of Finance Bolat Zhamishev. “4.3 billion tenge will be allocated for development of Zhanaozen, 2.4 billion tenge ($16.2 million) will be spent on development of Akmola oblast, 24.3 billion tenge ($164.2 million) will be allocated for Astana development and Almaty will receive 15 billion tenge ($101 million) for development. All these money are aimed for development of engineering communications, heating systems and construction of roads,” Zhamishev said at the meeting of Kazakhstan government. Clashes in Zhanaozen happened on December 16 and caused a significant damage to the town’s infrastructure. State of emergency was announced in Zhanaozen on December 17 and lifted on January 31. According to the latest information, the clashes claimed 14 lived and injured 64 people.
