AI warns woman about possible cancer after palm reading request

Tengrinews.kz - A 24-year-old woman from the UK says artificial intelligence may have saved her life after it flagged a potentially cancerous mole on her palm, citing The Mirror.

Trinity Page Davenport had turned to ChatGPT for a fun palm reading focused on her love life. But instead of a romantic prediction, the AI gave her a stark warning about a mole under her index finger.

"Before we get into any palm reading – I strongly recommend you get that mole on your palm checked out by a dermatologist. It may be nothing, but its location and appearance could resemble something called acral lentiginous melanoma, which is a rare but serious form of skin cancer that tends to appear on the palms, soles, or under nails. It's always better to be safe and get a professional evaluation. Once you've had it looked at and cleared, I'd be happy to read your palm for fun," the bot told her.

Trinity recalled that the mole appeared after the birth of her son, and she had no idea it could be dangerous.

She has since booked a doctor’s appointment and is awaiting her consultation.
