Dance battle Juste Debout Kazakhstan
The Juste Debout is an international meeting of hip hop dances which gathers more than 3 000 dancers, selected after an international two months tour. 6 big disciplines are represented to it: Locking, Popping, Hip Hop New Style, House, Experimental and Top Rock. Kazakhstan will now be represented at the Juste Debout in Paris, France on March 2, 2014. This year a pre-selection of Juste Debout was held in Kazakhstan for the first time. The event took place in Almaty on January 18, 2014.
Best moments of Sonangol Africa Eco Race-2014
Two Kazakhstan crews – Kanat Shagirov/Alexandr Moroz and Yuriy Sazanov/Arslan Sakhimov – successfully completed the Sonagol Africa Eco Race-2014 that started on December 29, 2013 in St. Cyprien, France and finished on January 11, 2014 in Dakar, Senegal at the Lac Rosa (Rose Lake). The international marathon rally Sonangol Africa Eco Race 2014 was held on the territory of three states Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal. 11 stages of the race made a 5,580-kilometer route, contained the total of 2,997 kilometers of special sections.
Detroit Auto Show 2014
The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), one of the largest auto shows in North America, has been opened in Detroit with a renewed optimism as confident carmakers forecast more growth and unveiled powerful new trucks, sexy sports cars and an abundance of luxury. The newest models, many with more horsepower, more aggressive profiles and ever-swankier cockpits are presented at the show.The auto show is being held annually in Detroit since 1907, except 1943-1952. The show gained its international status in 1988.
Thailand: Mass protests in Bangkok
The mass protest started in Thailand in November 2013. Members of the opposition Democrat Party are demanding an immediate resignation of Thai PM Yingluck Shinawatra, a sister of the prime-minister Thaksin Shinawatra ousted by royalist generals in 2006. The clashes between protesters and police are still taking place in Bangkok. The government has not tried to stop the protests, despite warnings that they could take a heavy toll on the economy and local businesses if they drag on. The last move made by the protesters was occupation of main streets in central Bangkok in an attempt to "shutdown" the capital, escalating a campaign to unseat the embattled premier and disrupt the February election. Tens or even hundreds of thousands of flag-waving protesters are massed at key intersections in the city, setting up rally stages along with tents for sleeping and stalls offering free food.
First stage of Africa Eco Race-2014
Kazakhstan's Mobile Racing Team crew of Shagirov and Moroz (#206) driving Hammer H3 in T1 class, successfully completed the 87 kilometers of special stage and finished the first stage in the 6th place. Another Kazakhstan's crew of Sazanov and Sakhimov (#208) completed the first stage of the rally in the 13th place, driving Hammer H3 in T1 class as well. The first stage with a total length of 632 kilometers covered the distance from the city of Nador and Boudnib, Morocco and took place on December 31.
Kazakhstan racers start Africa Eco 2014
Sonangol Africa Eco Race 2014 started from St Cyprien on December 29, 2013 and will finish Dakar at the Lac Rose (Rose Lake) in Senegal on January 11, 2014. Kazakhstan is represented by two crews: pilot Kanat Shagirov and navigator Alexandr Moroz, pilot Yuriy Sazanov and navigator Arslan Sakhimov. Both crews successfully passed the technical and administrative checks before of rally raid in St Cyprien, France. The first stage of the race started in the city of Nador, Morocco on December 31. The racers have to successfully drive through 11 stages totaling 2,992 kilometers to complete the challenge.

Kazakhstan vs Canada final hockey match at Universiade
Kazakhstan national hockey team won the silver medal of the Winter Universiade in Trentino, Italy, losing the final match to the Canadian hockey team 2:6. Kazakhstan hockey player Yevgeniy Rymarev became the best shooter of the tournament with 14 points.
Kazakhstan national team finished the Italian Winter Universiade with the total of 5 medals (2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze) and the 15th place by medal count.
EuroMaidan protest in Ukraine
A mass rally of thousands protesters led by top opposition leaders including world boxing champion Vitali Klitschko started on November 21, 2013 in Kiev, Ukraine calling for the president to step down after he refused to sign a key political and free trade deal with the European Union at a summit in Vilnius.
Waving European Union and opposition party flags, the protesters marched through the center of the city chanting pro-Western and anti-government slogans and stormed the municipal hall, labor unions buildings in Kiev.
Some held posters saying "We are not the Soviet Union, we are the European Union" and "I Love EU". The crowd also chanted calls for unseating of President Viktor Yanukovich and release of ex-premier Yulia Tymoshenko from jail.
Mass protests sparked violent clashes with police, who sprayed tear gas and threw stun grenades. Hundreds of people were injured during the clashes.
