Kazakhstan’s income per capita should reach $15 thousand in 2018, Bnews.kz reports citing Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Kazakhstan Guangui Lee as saying during a presentation of the country partnership strategy for 2012-2016 in Astana.“Kazakhstan is the country with above average incomes by international standards. Kazakhstan is on the threshold of joining the high incomes countries. According to ADB standards, this makes $12 thousand. Considering the inflation, that will reach 13 percent and will have an effect on the calculations, it will mean that the incomes will reach $15 thousand in 2018 in Kazakhstan provided that Kazakhstan maintains the economic growth of 6-7 percent per year,” Guangui Lee said. The ABR also announced its plans to invest around $1.6 billion into Kazakhstan’s infrastructure, in modernization of roads in particular.Meanwhile, the average wages of Kazakhstan residents made a little over 100 thousand tenge ($667) a month as of July 2012.
