Kazakhstan residents still prefer taking loans in tenge, Kapital.kz reports citing the National Bank Kazakhstan. According to the Bank, the share of the loans issued in tenge exceeded 68 percent and made over 6.4 trillion tenge ($42 billion) as of September this year, while the loans issued in foreign currencies equaled to 2.9 trillion tenge ($19.3 billion). According to the National Bank’s latest information, the total of over 9.3 trillion tenge ($61.9 billion) has been loaned to Kazakhstan's individuals and companies. The general loan portfolio has grewn by 600 billion tenge ($3.9 billion) since the beginning of the year.
