According to CoinMarketCap data as of 2:45 PM Astana time, the cryptocurrency fell by 6.9% in a day, by 18.4% in a week. Over the month, the rate fell by 21.7% from $102.3 thousand per 1 bitcoin.

Compared to the historical maximum of $109 114 thousand (January 20), the price of bitcoin has fallen by 26.6%. The fall of bitcoin is happening against the backdrop of the actions of US President Donald Trump to introduce customs duties on imported goods from Mexico and Canada and tariffs on products from China.

Other cryptocurrencies have also shown a decline. Thus, Ethereum (ETH) is trading around $2134, having lost 9.5% of its value in a day.

By the way, bitcoin surged past $108 000, setting a new all-time high ahead of the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump.
