Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan's Minister of Finance announced changes to the bonus system for civil servants, stating that budget savings will no longer be redirected toward bonuses.

Speaking to reporters at the Mazhilis, Minister Madi Takiev explained that any unused funds from government bodies will be returned to the state budget rather than allocated for employee bonuses.

“We have prohibited the Ministry of Finance, represented by the Treasury, from transferring savings within accounts for bonuses. Any savings will go back to the budget,” he clarified.

In response to whether civil servants might still receive bonuses from internal funds, he confirmed:

“There will be no bonuses. We have closed account code 112, which was used to allocate funds for bonuses,” Takiev said.

The Ministry of Finance later clarified that the restriction specifically applies to savings accrued by government agencies.
