A group of 25 tourists and a guide were in the Breidamerkurjokull glacier when the cave wall collapsed.
The South Iceland Police reported that four people are trapped under the rubble. One death has been confirmed, and two others remain trapped.
The local police chief reported that the search and rescue efforts are being conducted manually and no contact has yet been made with the two missing people. About 100 people are involved in the rescue operation.
The glacier where the accident occurred is located near the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, one of Iceland's most popular tourist destinations.
