Tengrinews.kz – A video featuring a young maral (red deer) calf filmed in the territory of the Kolsai Lakes National Park in Almaty Region has surfaced online.
The footage was published on the organization’s official Instagram page.
"A maral calf was recorded on video for the first time in the Karabulak forestry area, which is part of the Kolsai Lakes National Park. The unique footage was captured by forest ranger Bekserik Mukhtarovich Koishybayev during one of his routine patrols," the park's statement reads.

The maral calf appears unafraid of humans and calmly approaches a person.
The national park emphasized that "such valuable videos once again highlight the importance of preserving wildlife and protecting animal habitats."
It’s worth noting that camera traps in Kazakhstan's national parks and nature reserves are increasingly capturing rare and unique moments of wild animal and bird life. These devices allow for observation of nature without human interference, preserving the animals’ natural behavior. Scientists and environmentalists use them to gather valuable data on species population, migration, and activity. Additionally, such footage helps draw public attention to environmental conservation issues.
Previously, cameras in Ile-Alatau National Park recorded various representatives of the local wildlife.
The footage shows different park inhabitants - Tian Shan brown bears, Turkestan lynxes, marals, and Siberian roe deer - passing along the same trail and appearing in the same camera’s lens.
