Tengrinews.kz – The zoo reported a joyful event – a new addition to the swans.
The message was published on the organization’s official Instagram page.
"Do you remember the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen "The Ugly Duckling"? Well, we had one such ugly duckling, and even two! They hatched three months ago and still retain their grey "chick" plumage. But some time will pass, and, like in the fairy tale, they will turn into beautiful swans. You can see our "ugly ducklings" on the pond opposite the polar wolves," the zoo's post says.

The Almaty Zoo reported that the birds do not have names, they are ringed and assigned a number.
"We do not name young swans, in general, like most birds. The birds simply do not respond to their names. The swans' diet includes: compound feed, bran, cereals, wheat, carrots, cabbage," the organization's press service reported.
Earlier, a video published by Kazakh videographer Azamat Sarsenbayev appeared on the Internet, which captured swans that had arrived for the winter in the Mangistau region.
