Tengrinews.kz - Over the past 24 hours, the likelihood of major X-class solar flares has significantly increased, according to the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at IKI and ISZF.
According to their data, several precursors have been observed, including a noticeable increase in the background X-ray radiation from the Sun and a rapid expansion of solar active regions.
"The highest risks are associated with two sunspot groups, numbers 3932 and 3933. The magnetic configuration of these centers, which determines, among other things, the likelihood of flares, is close to the highest beta-gamma-delta category. Region 3933 has now been assigned this class. Currently, both centers are actively producing series of M-level events," the report states.
It is noted that the X-level threshold could be exceeded as early as today.
Earlier, we reported that the so-called mini-moon, after completing a two-month half-orbit around our planet, left Earth's vicinity. Earth temporarily gained a second "moon" at the end of September. It was mentioned that in January next year, the asteroid will once again approach our planet, coming within nearly 2 million kilometers.
