Tengrinews.kz – Kazakh photographer Dmitry Dotsenko has published a stunning atmospheric video shot near Almaty — the kind that makes you want to pause everything and simply enjoy spring.
Dotsenko posted the video on his Instagram page, and it has already been viewed nearly 500,000 times.
“The blooming flax fields near Almaty look like a sea of blue — endless and serene. May knows how to give beauty: among the linen waves, a herd of horses, and in the spotlight, a playful foal frolicking among the flowers. You just can’t not capture this. This is our true nature. This is our life — vibrant, simple, and endlessly beautiful,” he wrote in the caption.

The post has over a thousand comments, with social media users praising the photographer for creating what many described as a work of art.
“Breathtaking beauty,” “You’re a master of perfect shots,” “It’s like a fairy tale,” – users wrote.
In a comment to Tengrinews, Dmitry shared that the video was filmed on May 6.
“I filmed it two days ago, on May 6, near Almaty, in the direction of Shelek. I went early in the morning, right after sunrise. I used both my camera and a drone. I was specifically looking for poppy and flax fields. There weren’t many poppies, but I got lucky with the latter — stunning blue fields stretching to the horizon. I walked around hoping to catch the right moment — and I did. Seeing horses in motion against the mountains is always a powerful image. That’s why I captured both photos and video,” he explained.
Dotsenko noted that he has recently started filming more videos, which are receiving as much attention as his photographs.
“First and foremost, I’m a photographer, and I always start with stills. But video is a powerful tool for conveying atmosphere. Now I’m experimenting with an approach that goes beyond pretty visuals — I aim to capture the feeling of the moment, like a mini-film. I try to keep it all natural, without staging. You could say my artistic concept remains the same, but now it’s expanded with video — it helps tell a deeper story,” Dmitry added.
