Tengrinews.kz - Tourist arrivals from Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan have increased to 20.000, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
In 2023, the number of tourists from Turkmenistan visiting Kazakhstan rose to 20,000, reflecting growing interest in Kazakhstan as a travel destination.
During a meeting between Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpaev and Turkmen Ambassador to Kazakhstan Batyr Rejepov, prospects for bilateral cooperation in tourism and sports were discussed.
Yeremek Marzhikpaev emphasized the importance of tourism cooperation and highlighted Kazakhstan's diverse tourism opportunities, including eco-tourism, ethnographic tourism, agro-tourism, business, and adventure tourism. He noted that the positive trend in inbound tourism is the result of joint efforts by both countries.
The Minister suggested strengthening tourism collaboration, including active participation by Turkmen tourism companies in exhibitions held in Kazakhstan. In response, Batyr Rejepov proposed several initiatives and projects in the sports and tourism sectors that could further enhance cooperation between the two countries, including the signing of a memorandum of understanding in sports.
