Tengrinews.kz - Kazakh man captured a video of the supermoon in Almaty.
Dmitry Dotsenko posted a clip on his Instagram page, which quickly sparked discussions online.
"I filmed the September supermoon. I put a lot of effort into the shooting technique and made a super-detailed timelapse. This is the moonrise over the Almaty mountains near the Yunyi Geolog peak. I've been observing and photographing the moon for many years. Every time I search for new angles and improve the quality of the shooting," he noted.

The post gathered around a thousand comments, with social media users praising the atmospheric video.
Dotsenko also shared how he filmed the supermoon.
"I shot it with a camera and a telephoto lens, took 500 frames, and combined them into a time-lapse video. The 20-second "flight" of the moon in the video actually took 5 minutes, which is still pretty fast. The moon's angular velocity in the sky is high, especially noticeable during moonset and moonrise," he said.
The photographer also mentioned his fondness for capturing supermoons.
"Usually, there are 3-4 supermoons a year. During this time, the moon appears about 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than when it's at apogee (its farthest point from Earth). It's noticeable but subtle for most people. Where you observe the moon also matters—if you watch it near the horizon, it seems largest due to the "moon illusion." That's why I recommend everyone to watch moonrises and moonsets," he added.
It’s worth noting that there will be four supermoons this year. Two have already passed—on August 19 and September 18. The next one is expected on October 17, and the final supermoon of the year is anticipated on November 16.
