Tengrinews.kz – Kazakh videographer Serik Askarov, known for his landscape work in East Kazakhstan, has shared a new video capturing the rare transition between autumn and winter in the Altai Mountains.
The footage shows nature frozen between two seasons — when golden forests meet freshly fallen snow.
Serik told Tengrinews that the video was filmed about a week ago in the Altai highlands.
“It was an incredible contrast between the seasons. I’ve been there many times, but I’ve never seen such a view before. I was lucky to capture this moment,” he said.
The videographer has long been passionate about shooting landscapes but began working professionally with drones just over a year ago. On October 14, he also filmed the season’s first snow in Ust-Kamenogorsk.
In August, Serik visited the Rakhmanovskie Springs, a remote mountain area that requires a 10-hour drive from Ust-Kamenogorsk.
“The road is a real challenge — mostly off-road. We had to rent a special vehicle with reinforced suspension, as it’s nearly impossible to reach by a regular car,” he shared.
Despite the difficulty, Serik says the trip was worth it.
“It’s better than sitting at home just dreaming. If you have the chance, go, see it, and enjoy the beauty of our land,” he said.
The videographer plans to continue his mini-expeditions, expanding the geography of his shoots.
“Next summer I want to travel to other regions of Kazakhstan,” he added.
