The organization reports that fishing in Borovoe will be temporarily prohibited due to the lakes freezing over and colder weather conditions in the national park.
"Due to the formation of ice cover and the drop in ambient temperature, to prevent accidents, the issuance of permits for recreational and sport fishing will be suspended from November 11 to December 11, 2024," the national park stated.
The organization also noted that the restriction period may change depending on weather conditions.
It was also reported that the park is preparing for the 'harvesting' of roe from whitefish species.
"From November 11 to December 30, a reproductive catch of whitefish species — peled and ripus — is being conducted on Lake Shchuchye. The fishing is carried out by employees of the park’s wildlife protection and reproduction department. The roe from the caught fish will be incubated at the Zeren Fish Farm, after which the young fish will be released into the park’s water bodies for restocking," the organization stated.
In addition, the national park urged people to take precautions and avoid walking on thin ice.
As a reminder, the national park covers an area of 129,299 hectares and is a protected area of national significance.
