Tengrinews.kz — A Kazakh videographer has captured atmospheric sunset footage from the top of a mountain near Almaty.
A resident of the city posted the clip on his Instagram account. We spoke with the author of the video — his name is Aibek. He is a professional guide and videographer. For more than five years, Aibek has been doing mountain climbs in the Almaty area, and over time his hobby has grown into his main profession.
He regularly hikes in the Zailiysky Alatau mountains, where he films atmospheric shots of snow-covered peaks, sunrises, and sunsets.

Social media users are captivated by his videos — for many, they become a source of inspiration and even motivate them to head into the mountains.
“This is what truly magnificent looks like,” “An incredible sight — our land is so beautiful,” “This is magical,” “I need to go,” users wrote in the comments.
Aibek said he learned the basics of filming on his own — without courses or formal professional education. Everything he knows about composition, light, and working with a frame came through practice, experimentation, and hours spent in the mountains. For his videos, he uses a smartphone camera and a drone.
“I’m self-taught. I shoot on my phone and with a drone. I don’t have an operator or a mobile videographer — I handle the whole process myself: from climbing into the mountains to filming and editing,” Aibek shared.
