Tengrinews.kz - A snow leopard, showing lively interest in a camera and carefully studying it, was captured on video in the Katon-Karagai State National Natural Park. The video was posted on the organization’s official Instagram page.
"A photo trap installed in the Arshaty forestry captured the rare predator. Each such shot reminds us of the importance of protecting the unique natural treasures of Katon-Karagai National Park," the organization’s statement reads.

As is known, a photo trap is an automatic device for photo and video recording, activated by motion within its observation range. It is equipped with a built-in camera and infrared sensors that detect movement and trigger recording.
Thanks to photo traps, we can observe animals in their natural habitats. For example, in early November, a video from Charyn State National Natural Park appeared online, capturing a fox on a photo trap. You can watch it here.
