Three air companies have been fined 1.3 million tenge ($8.7 thousand) for ecological violations, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the official website of Kazakhstan General Prosecutor’s office.
A check was made by aviation transport prosecutor’s office of Almaty. The violations of Air Astana, Aircraft Repair Plant No.405 and Altair Air were related to placement of domestic wastes in unauthorized areas and soil pollution. The discovered violations have been eliminated.
In the meanwhile, the air carriers are
suffering from a huge garbage dump near Almaty airport. Around 60 aircrafts have struck birds flying over the garbage dump over the past 1.5 years. The plan is to move the dump to Kainar village.
