Tengrinews.kz - A Kazakhstani was able to capture interesting and unique footage of a comet flying through the sky over Akmola region.

Maksim Dyndikov, a resident of the village of Uzunkol, sent several photos to our editorial office. According to him, he is passionate about stargazing, so when he heard the news about the passing comet, he was determined to see it with his own eyes. Fortunately, he succeeded.

"I was walking down the street on the evening of October 15 and saw a barely visible comet. I tried to find the best angle to capture it. The photos are not of the highest quality, but you can still see it," he said.

The young man clarified that he had been waiting for the comet to pass since October 11.

"Every night I followed the news and hoped to see it since I read that it could be spotted with the naked eye. And it turned out to be true," he added.

By the way, Dmitry Dotsenko previously managed to capture a comet flying in the sky over Almaty. The video was shot on October 12. More details can be found here.

It is worth noting that earlier, a specialist at the Astrophysical Institute, Svetlana Moshkina, noted that Kazakhstanis would have the opportunity to see the comet in October.

"The Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) passed perihelion on September 27, approaching the Sun at 0.39 astronomical units (58 million km). On October 12, it will be closest to Earth at a distance of 0.48 astronomical units (70 million km). Its brightness will decrease as it moves away. From October 11 to 12, the comet will appear above the horizon in the Northern Hemisphere after sunset, and it can be observed until October 18, after which it will only be visible through a telescope," she said.
