Wastes dumping to Volchevka river was stopped in East Kazakhstan oblast, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing press-service of oblast Emergency Situations Department. According to the Department, a border dike was set up at the river to fence off and collection the spilled industrial wastes, seven pumps are pumping the waters to functioning sections of the tailing dump. “Water supply networks connected to well No.2 in Sekissovka village are being flushed at the same time. Samples from the Sekissovka River are taken for examination every day,” the Department stated. “Fresh water is continuously supplied to Sekissovka village. Water has been sampled in Maloubinka village as well, there are no laboratory results yet. Awareness rasing campaign is being run for local residents,” the Department's message said.
