Third earthquake in a day recorded in Zhetysu region

Tengrinews.kz – Another earthquake has been recorded in the Zhetysu region, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The earthquake was registered at 13:23 by the network of seismic stations of the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research.

"The epicenter was located 267 kilometers northeast of Almaty on the territory of Kazakhstan," the report said.

The estimated intensity was: Zhetysu region, Panfilov district, the city of Zharkent — 2 points.

It was noted that no calls were received from the public to the emergency number 112.

This is already the third earthquake in the area in the past 24 hours. During the night of March 31, tremors with a magnitude of 4.4 were recorded there.

The second earthquake occurred at 11:11 Astana time — its epicenter was located 52 kilometers northwest of the city of Zharkent. Later, the Ministry of Emergency Situations published data on the strength of the tremors.
